In the 1910s, U.S. industry was being challenged by workers advocating for better wages, a shorter work week, and the elimination of child labor. This was especially true in the factories in Atlanta where conditions were miserable.
Let Us Have Justice became the rallying cry for Atlanta laborers who began striking for better working conditions in 1914.
This design was inspired by a photograph from that very strike. The photo (shown here) shows a man holding a hand-made sign bearing the words "Let Us Have Justice.”
